Description
BMW Catless Downpipes – Active Autowerke 11-064
ACTIVE AUTOWERKE BMW X3M/X4M S58 DOWNPIPE
BMW introduced a new valvetronic, single turbo version of its direct-injection engine for the later F-Chassis models beginning in 2016 and continues into the G-Chassis models – the evolution to the S58 engine continues with the twin turbo variant used in the M-series vehicles. The Active Autowerke S58 downpipes for the X3M and X4M helps unleash some of the potential that is restricted by the OEM downpipes.
Turbochargers are powered by spent exhaust gases created during the combustion process. The quicker these gases are evacuated, the better. Unfortunately, the factory down pipe in the S58 is a bit restrictive, which results in slower exhaust gases and slower turbo spool.
The Active Autowerke X3M/X4M S58 Signature down pipe utilizes 3 inch diameter stainless steel piping in order to provide more power, quicker spool, and extreme durability. We’ve incorporated stainless flex joints and then down to 70mm to meet the OEM exhaust system. We never drop the diameter to smaller than the stock diameter of 70mm.
FEATURES:
- Designed to be as unrestrictive as possible
- 3 inch diameter piping allows for maximum power output
- Quicker turbo spool
- Easily bolts-on – no cutting or welding required

ACTIVE AUTOWERKE S58 SIGNATURE DOWNPIPE BENEFITS
The speed of a turbo’s impeller wheel is limited by exhaust back pressure. A larger down pipe relieves some of this pressure, resulting in quicker and more efficient spool. With Active Autowerke’s Signature downpipes, your S58 can rev quicker, and deliver more horsepower and torque.
Minimizing back pressure while retaining daily drive-ability was the goal of our S58 downpipes. Owners can now upgrade to a product that is affordable, reliable, and easy to install. Note: Because these down pipes modify the factory emissions system it is designed for off-road or racing use only.
After months of research and development, our engineers settled on a 3 inch diameter pipe which utilizes the least number of bends possible. The large volume helps the turbo spool as quickly as possible by eliminating back pressure during spool up.
Constructed entirely from 304 stainless steel with 1.5MM wall thickness, we are confident that you’ll be pleased with how robust and durable this down pipe is. Trouble-free installation and a long lifespan ensure that you’ll enjoy many miles of performance with your S58!

Brothers Mike and Karl Hugh were bred to play with power, it seems. As young men growing up on an island, doing things correctly for oneself became their ingrained credo. Their adolescent projects – bicycles and dirt bikes – were always the best performing. And that soon set the tone for the BMW tuning hobby they graduated to. By 1981, Mike and Karl were ready to get serious about their longstanding passion for a higher standard of BMW performance. Active Autowerke was born. Their motto at the time: “Anything and Everything BMW”. They probably should have included “everyone” in there, too – since the endeavor was a classic family affair – with many branches of the Hugh family tree pooling their talents. The timing was ideal, and the company quickly grew as America’s motoring public developed a healthy appetite for the Bavarian treat. Soon Active Autowerke had grown into the largest independent BMW service center in Florida – with the most sophisticated equipment arsenal in the industry, certifications from leading componentry firms such as the Robert Bosch Corporation, and repute for setting the benchmark for service, integrity and professionalism.
